What is Good Neighbor Care? Who are they?
Good Neighbor Care, its name explains for itself. It is one of the most stable and growing Senior Living company in United States which I’m fortunate to be a part of.
Currently I’m at Fullerton Gardens, Assisted Living for Memory Care which is a Good Neighbor Care Community. What is great about my community – Fullerton Gardens is the longevity of staff and most of all, reputation in the community for having good care. To give you an idea of Fullerton Gardens’ longevity of staff, one of our cook has been with us for 23 years and care provider for 18 years. Being in charge of the occupancy, helping families in crisis and seniors to be safely somewhere, it is always a meaningful experience to make a difference in their lives. The reputation of Fullerton Gardens is amazing that we get our referrals thru word of mouth which always make me feel confident in representing Fullerton Gardens to the community that their loved ones are going to be well taken cared of. Isn’t that a wonderful feeling?
(Representing and selling a true product to the consumers. That is why it shows in our numbers, we are still at a 100% occupancy.)
Being part of Good Neighbor Care is such a rewarding journey. They truly exemplify their company name and tag line: Good Neighbor Care - “Where Neighbors become Friends and Friends become Families.” The numbers show and most of our communities are 100% occupancy. In fact, California region is 100%.)
I am often asked by my colleagues, people who knew my profession before and Filipinos who still recognize me (whenever I am out visiting hospitals or nursing homes) if ever I miss showbusiness? I always tell them that I really don’t miss it or miss being a celebrity but I do miss my fans and the benefits/perks I’ve had being in showbusiness. (free spa services, facials, clothing, etc… getting everything or material things you want easily) BUT, that is why I really don’t miss it at all
I guess you understand by now after sharing you my story at the beginning of this diary.
Now being on the other side, (normal life) I don’t take things and people for granted. That doesn’t mean I did, but being in the real world made me a better person. Also, that doesn’t mean ALL celebrities take things or people for granted, it was just my personal journey.
I also share to people that currently, I am in the next chapter of my life; just like reading books. My journey being a multi-platinum recording artist having hit songs, being a villain in soap operas, starting early as a working student that was often disliked by classmates, a daughter and sister who helped financially in making sure we finish thru college and paid the bills, were all part of Chapter One. We are now in Chapter Two – being a wife, mother and career woman. Life is too short that I want to continuously achieve so many more dreams in life, other than being an artist or being famous. I want to live and continue experience my true meaning and Purpose In Life.
I am fortunate to have all these blessings from above. Being in senior living industry, my parents have always been my inspiration, the reason of my passion and driving force in helping, serving and saving other seniors lives. For the past years I’ve been taking care of my parents is the same feeling I have for our residents and other seniors. The wonderful fact is that I am confident and assured that the seniors I place with Good Neighbor Care will be well taken cared of.
